Welcome Message

We sincerely hope you will join us at the upcoming, exciting Chem R&D 2025 Conference.

"Chemistry is everything" is a mantra that advocates for the prime position modern chemistry ought to have within our education and research communities. In recent years, chemistry has made a powerful comeback as a fundamental science and the foundation for many other disciplines. The merger of chemistry with biology and materials science has had a major impact on drug discovery. The development of novel chemical reactions that are orthogonal to bio-macromolecular chemistry has revolutionized the area of biopharmaceuticals and drug discovery. Importantly, the search for novel click reactions is slowly expanding the arsenal of tools available for biology and materials science. New, well-defined polymer architectures with combinations of functionality, and multifunctional molecular robots for complex, efficient, and selective medicines that combine the functions of biomolecules and synthetic compounds, have been made feasible through these click chemistries.

The combination of recent developments in AI and microscopy, down to the single-molecule level, with the development of functional molecules, has opened up novel ways to visualize the effect of chemicals on biological systems, holding great promise for accelerating drug discovery. It also allows for catalysis ligand assembly to form catalysts with enzyme-like behavior in which substrate binding plays a major role in addition to the catalysis itself. Perhaps substrate-selective drugs with enzymatic activity are within reach in the near future.

With all this in mind, we welcome you all to a prolific meeting on “Advances in Chemistry Research and Development” (Chem R&D) which is scheduled to be held in Frankfurt, Germany during April 28-30, 2025, a meeting we expect to be an outstanding melting pot for new ideas and inspirations, bridging natural sciences in the years to come.
